It's finally what really feels like fall here in California. My summer dresses and brights are out (bye bye, bohemian chic) and the sweaters and boots are out of storage in full force (hello all of my vamp sexy dreams).
With that being said, I thought it time to resume my monthly favorites rundown series and let you little disasters in on what's blessing my makeup bag at the moment. Enjoy this month's roundup of must have products that I'm loving right now.
L'Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Foundation
You know it has to be a good foundation when an admitted luxury junkie such as myself finds themself obsessed with a drug store foundation. This little baby stands up to $50+ dollar foundations in my arsenal. The formula is full coverage, virtually weightless and hangs tough through my 18+ hour days. It also plays well with others, no oxidizing or oily T-zone for this mama. My shade in this brand is 112 or 'cocoa.' It retails at approximately $10.00-$15.00 wherever you can get drug store makeup. Don't miss out on this steal!
Colourpop Cosmetics Ultra Metallic Lip - Zebra
Unless you live under a rock, you've noticed that metallics are all the rage at the moment. I'm a sucker for anything that shines, like Golem from "Lord of the Rings," so you know I'm all over the high shine metal trend, be it for eyes, lips or a popping highlight. Even in the winter, baby, I shine. This lipstick is on trend with it's metallic finish, but deep and rich red browns make it muted enough for the office while still being dazzling enough to translate for cocktails. I've especially enjoyed this on my 'no makeup' makeup days when I want a nude overall look but still with a pop of pizazz. As brown girl friendly of a metallic as they come, this must have lippie is only $6.00 (yes, girl, $6.00) and can be purchased at colourpop.com.
Naked Ultimate Basics Eyeshadow Palette
Have you ever thought about what makeup you wouldn't want to be stranded on a desert island without? Well I have, and if I had to be castaway like Tom Hanks, this little weapon is on the island. This is the palette of essentials to end all essentials. Date night, morning meeting, brunch with the girls? I don't care where I'm going, if I had to take one palette and survive, this would be it. If you've spent any time reading my beauty reviews or follow my IG, you know that I love all things Urban Decay, and their eyeshadow formula is unrivaled. These 12 shades, 11 matte and one demi-matte, range from bone nude to rich brown and black. They glide on like butter, don't crease, and stay when told like they've been to obedience school. If you're looking for a no muss palette that is compact enough to throw in your purse and versatile for every penny spent, look no further. The palette is $54.00 and is available in all major department stores where Urban Decay is sold as well as Sephora.
MAC Cosmetics Liquidlast Liner
I like my liner like I like my stilettos - clean, sleek and sharp enough to double as a weapon (half kidding about that last part.) Don't be fooled by the pint sized packaging. Though she be but little she is fierce. This liner is equipped with a thin brush tip that makes winged liner effortless, even when you were supposed to be somewhere 15 minutes ago and you're throwing it on in the car #momlife. I love it because it's long wearing, and doesn't crack, crumble or peel like other liquid liners I've experienced. It dries matte and it's blacker than Morticia's cold dark soul. If you're in the market for a holy grail liner, this one is the G.O.A.T. It retails for $21.00 at MAC or MAC counters.
