So I bought this blending sponge on a whim at Ulta for $6. I've owned both Beauty Blenders and the MAC Pro Performance sponges (I prefer MAC's) so I have a hefty knowledge and use of these products.
For $6 (compared to $20 for a Beauty Blender or $19 for Mac's Pro sponge) I had to give it a try and see how it measured up!
I've used this sponge daily for a week and here are the pros:
1. It's firm when wet, unlike the Beauty Blender, which can get very spongy and expand, especially when wet. I like precision, and the firmness contributes to that.
2. It's shape has a comfortable grip. I'm not particularly fond of the shape of either the Beauty Blender or MAC Pro Sponge. This one makes it very clear where your fingers need to go and offers the two sided use that I find in MAC's sponge.
3. It doesn't bleed like the Beauty Blender when you first wash it.
The only con I found with this sponge is it doesn't blend as well in my opinion as the Beauty Blender or the MAC Pro sponge. Don't get me wrong, if you're looking to spend less, this DEFINITELY does the job, I just know the difference. I give this little sponge a 10/10 in value and 8/10 in performance. Try it out and let me know if you love it! I'm going back for a few more for whenever I do makeup for others.
